Visual artist Esther Rolinson and choreographer Carol Brown sculpt space with light, movement and metal in Machine for Living, a new art and performance event.

The Machine for Living consists of 13 huge, perforated steel panels hanging in the vast spaces of Greenwich Borough Hall. The panels create shadowy rooms, inhabited by five dancers.

Architect David Adjaye, board member of Greenwich Dance Agency, said: "The juxtaposition of the metal panels and the soaring 1930s art deco hall should be a dynamic complement to the fluidity and mobility of the dancers' bodies."

November 8-10, Machine for Living, Greenwich Borough Halls, Royal Hill, Greenwich, 7.30pm, £10/£7, 020 7387 0031.
