HARRY Potter fans from Roydon Primary School were among the first to see the movie adaptation of J. K Rowling's first book Harry Potter and the Philsopher's Stone.o
The junior school children and their teachers dressed up as their favourite characters from the book to go and see Harry and his friends on the big screen at the UGC cinema in Harlow on Friday the first day the film was on general release.
The school had booked one of the screens as a special treat for the children.
Harry Potter look-a-like Tony Richardson, a Year 8 pupil at Burnt Mill School in Harlow and owl Becky (from Paradise Wildlife Park ) greeted the children as they came out.
Head teacher Wayne Howsen said: "It was superb and the children absolutely loved the film. They thought the special effects were great and were pleased that it was true to the original story. They've been talking about it non-stop.
"They thought the Harry Potter look-alike and the owl were fantastic, especially when they got out of the limo. It was a really great day."
