The Old Bailey: Jonathan King was today jailed for seven years after the pop mogul carried out horrific attacks against five boys.

The Old Bailey heard how King, 56, approached boys on the street with surveys, then "exploited his celebrity" to take them to his central London home.

The pop mogul showed the boys porn and promised to find girls for them before launching his sickening assaults.

He was found guilty of six offences against five boys aged 14 and 15 from 1982 to 1987.

Reporting restrictions were only lifted today when the prosecution said it would not go ahead with two other trials.

A second trial alleging he committed serious sexual offences against two boys in the 1970s collapsed yesterday.

Prosecution lawyers and police have agreed not to proceed with the other cases.

King denied all the charges and his lawyers said today he would lodge an immediate appeal.

Detective Inspector Brian Marjoram, of Surrey Police, said: "We have achieved justice for his victims.

"He had the best defence money could buy. They put these victims through a very harrowing experience.

"When he was giving evidence, King mocked them. He did not convince the jury and they convicted him.

"Anyone who has been abused, however many years ago, is entitled to justice."
