(Printwize East Hockey League Premier A Division)CROSTYX came up with the goods once again to put themselves back into second position in the league.

A first half hat-trick from Gareth Ingram saw Crostyx take a commanding lead as they dominated the game all over the park. However two defensive errors let Bedford back into the game.

It was not until late on in the second half that Crostyx were able to restore their lead to a two goal margin with a superb strike from the top of the D by Nick Duck.

With ten minutes to go and the pressure now off, Crostyx played some of their best hockey so far this season and although they added one further goal it could have been many more.

They now stand just two points behind Bishops Stortford and look forward to playing them in a few weeks time.

The ladies team continued their good form with a 2-0 win over Burnt Ash at home on Saturday.

Sue Mouat opened the scoring four minutes before the break when she opened up the defence with a shot that was deflected in by Carrie Curtis.

Jules Spence increased the lead when she out-skilled the Burnt Ash defence and calmly slotted the ball past the goal keeper.

The final result was a comfortable 2-0 victory over mediocre opposition.
