June Sampson's articles on her battle against cancer have moved many readers to write in with their thoughts. Here we publish some of the responses to her articles.

You must be inundated with letters since your series on your alarming experiences.

The whole of Kingston and surrounding areas will be feeling for you and wanting to express their sympathy and admiration for your courage. I am just one of them so don't think you should reply, you have far too much on your plate.

One of the most interesting things which came out of your revelations was that a sensible doctor just using his sense of touch was more effective than all the complicated machines and techniques put together.

Another was your explanation of the various intimidating processes which must do so much to remove our ignorant fear of them. Twice (at least) the examinations were over before you knew they'd begun. I have experience of angioplasty which I had after a heart attack over a year ago. Though I dreaded it, the whole marvellous process was painless and I'm quite recovered I can even dig the garden.

We will all be praying, or wishing, according to our beliefs, for your recovery.

You've given us all so much over the years; you've become an institution much valued by us all.

Hoping for full recovery: I have been reading with interest your articles of the past few weeks. The more I read, the more it reminds me of the time I went through many of the treatments you are having.

Also on Mr Ian Bloom, he is a wonderful man, I can never put into words the great respect I have for him. Thankfully I did not have cancer, but I do have a seven inch scar which is Mr Blooms handiwork. Please keep up the good work you are doing in the Surrey Comet. I am looking forward to next week to read part five.

My best wishes to you. I hope by now or in the not too distant future you will make a full recovery.

I can assure you the treatment I received on the NHS was every bit as good as you received.

A woman with guts: I am riveted to your story in the Surrey Comet and can't wait for Fridays to know how you are getting on.

I have had a lot of investigations over the years but thankfully no cancer was found.

I go without many things I would like to pay Bupa currently £42 per week and rising!

I've found your articles most interesting and so enlightening. With your guts you'll make it. So many people are thinking of you.

Very best wishes and good luck.
