THE distraught family of a murdered man are appealing for help in tracking down his killer on the second anniversary of his death.

Steve Jindu died from stab wounds two years ago to the day next Thursday and police are still hunting for the killer who left Steve's body on Horsenden Hill in Greenford.

This week, his sister Lorna Youna made a heartfelt plea for anyone who might be able to help in the investigation to come forward with information.

She said: "We were very close, like twins really. He was wonderful to be with funny and kind. He was everything you could wish for in a brother. If you needed him he would be there in a second.

"I was devastated when I heard he had been murdered and I still am. The feeling never goes away. I am in a state of devastation every day. I just ask myself the question 'why?'. Someone must know something. I want justice for him and for us. My mother will never be able to live normally and neither will the rest of us."

Steve, 25, had been missing for three days when his body was discovered by a passerby in a clearing surrounded by woods 80 yards from Horsenden Lane North on November 14, 2000.

The warehouse driver was last seen alive on November 11 at Yates' Wine Lodge in Mattock Lane, Ealing, where his green VW Passat was later recovered.

Witnesses say Steve went to the bar on his own and popped out several time to make calls on his mobile phone. He was captured on CCTV leaving the bar at 10.40pm.

DCI Norman McKinlay, who is leading the investigation, said: "Two years have passed since Steve Jindu was murdered. We are still trying to establish his movements after he left the wine bar.

"We need to know how Steve got from Mattock Lane to Horsenden Hill and we ask for anyone who may have seen him in either Ealing or in Greenford on Saturday November 11, 2000, to come forward.

"This has been a terrible ordeal for his family and until his murderer or murderers have been brought to justice the family cannot come to terms with their terrible loss and begin rebuilding their lives. I would urge anyone with any information to contact police and assist us in solving this murder.
