Springfield Hospital has been given £1million by the Morris Markowe League Of Friends towards a new adult inpatient ward to help treat eating disorders.

Chairman of the friends Brendan Bolger visited the Tooting hospital to hand over the cheque to the head of the unit, Professor Hubert Lacey.

Chief executive Dr Nigel Fisher said: "The friends are a very special group of people and the trust is grateful for their unstinting support."
