WHIPPS Cross Hospital is still struggling with an overspent budget of £1.139million, according to a new report.

It detailed the financial position of the trust for the period up to the end of November last year.

The most significant areas of overspend in the hospital are within general surgery, women's and children's services, critical care and medicine.

However, hospital chiefs believe the overspend can be brought down to a deficit of just £600,000.
