Anthony O'Donnell and Thomas Ward, of New Addington ABC, boxed at Earlsfield on Saturday in the next round for the School Boys Championships after becoming South East Division champions .
Thomas went through on a bye. Anthony O'Donnell boxed Steve Turner Lawrence ABC (last year's finalist).
Both boys started off strong with Anthony working his jab, but this gave Turner the edge to do more work.
In the second round, Anthony shortened his style and kept close to Turner. This was better for Anthony and Turner was saved by the bell after being caught with a fine combination of four punches.
The third round was to be as good as the previous one with both boys trying to give it their all. Anthony was awarded the win by a majority decision.
