A group of elderly Selsdon residents were able to continue their regular lunches at a day centre when a hotel stepped in to replace their broken bus.
Selsdon Park Hotel are giving the Selsdon Centre for the Retired a bus and driver as cover while their old bus is being repaired. The offer of the bus and driver for two days came about after the centre called the hotel to explain the situation.
Sheila Childs, the Addington Road centre's assistant manager, said that without the hotel's gift, at least a dozen residents would not have been able to make it to the centre for the lunch club.
Sheila said: "I just want to say a huge thanks. The hotel has saved us a huge amount of work, and it will make such a difference to the people that who will now be able to come in."
