CHAMPIONS West Herts will have to get past competition newcomers Harefield if they are to get their defence of The Watford Observer Knockout Cricket Trophy and Plate off to a successful start.
The draw was conducted at The Watford Observer's offices on Monday and it reads:
First Round: Bushey v Met Police; Aldenham v Clarendon; Chipperfield v Bricket Wood; Langleybury B v Frogmore. Moor Park, Chiltern, Harefield and Old Centralians all have byes through to the second round.
Second Round (seeds in capitals): Moor Park v LANGLEYBURY A; Chiltern v CHORLEYWOOD; Harefield v WEST HERTS; WATFORD TOWN v Old Centralians; Bushey or Met Police v ABBOTS LANGLEY; Aldenham or Clarendon v OLD MERCHANT TAYLORS; Chipperfield or Bricket Wood v NORTHWOOD; Langleybury B or Frogmore v HEMEL HEMPSTEAD TOWN.
First round games must be played by Friday, May 23, while the scheduled completion date for Round Two is Friday, June 6.
Full details of the draw, together with the qualification criteria for the new Plate competition, will be published in this week's edition of The Watford Observer, and all clubs should receive their competition packs by early next week.
