FIREFIGHTERS rescued two foxes from a cemetery after a dog killed their mother.
The newborn cubs were discovered by two young girls at Hither Green Cemetery, off Reigate Road, on April 22.
Downham firefighters kept the foxes in a box at the station, which backs onto the cemetery, overnight.
A spokesman for Downham fire station said: "They were quite cute, just like a couple of over-sized kittens.
"An animal charity came to pick them up. Hopefully, they will eventually be released back into the wild or kept in a sanctuary where they can be properly looked after."
