BEXLEY'S smallest cemetery is still open for burials after creating room for another 300 graves.
The first burial in the extension to Sidcup Cemetery, in Footscray Lane, took place last week.
Bexley Council, which owns the graveyard, has taken unused land between the cemetery and the railway to create the new space, which should keep the cemetery open for another 10 years.
The council has also built a proper footpath to Albany Park railway station.
An avenue of ornamental flowering trees has been laid there to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
