Enfield 254-5
Barclays 182-9
Middlesex County League Division Two
Barclays came up against some impressive scoring from their hosts, but battled back well to claim a draw on Saturday.
Enfield, put in to bat, wasted little time in piling on the runs. An excellent display of attacking batting from Enfield's John Allen (67 not out), Eduard Barber (59) and Aussie import Glen Davidson (67 not out) left Barclays with a mountain to climb.
Faced with a run rate of more than five an over, Barclays were soon in trouble and found themselves seven wickets down with 101 runs on the board. But Barclays' captain Steve Day (29) steadied the ship to help his team-mates reach 178, before the overs ran out to leave the visitors on 182-9.
Enfield bowler Davidson was the man-of-the-match, with four wickets for 59 runs. His performance helped to secure four points for Enfield, while Barclays were awarded one.
Barclays' second eleven team defeated Old Actonians by nine wickets as they recorded an easy home win on Saturday.
Responding to the visitors' total of 84, Barclays reached their target with the loss of just one wicket.
