GOOD fun was had by all at Headstone Cricket Club on Sunday when a Chairman's X1 faced the Captain's XI for the Percy Isham trophy.

This now to be annual event has been created in honour of the late Percy Isham, a cornerstone of the club's history.

The Captains XI were put in to bat and made a shaky start with Jamal taking the wickets of Ford and Hodge and Percy's Grandson David having skipper Chris Emmott caught behind in the nineth over.

The innings was recovered however with Greame Ford steadying the ship with an unbeaten 50 and Rivers cracking an awesome 73 in no time at all.

The Captain's XI finished their 35 overs on 176 for eight.

The Chairman's XI where of to a disasterous start when the clubs all time leading scorer Ray Bullen was out to Outram for a duck.

Bloomfield and Smith lead the fightback but hopes of a win for the Chairmans side finished with Smith when he was caught behind for 47, the innings closed on 133 with Chairman Martin Isham not out for 16.

Many drinks and a good quality barbecue for the 100 strong turnout followed. Craig Rivers was awarded man-of-the-match for his winning knock and Chairman, and event sponser Martin Isham presentend Club Captain Chris Emmott with the trophy maybe next year Emmott will have to hand it back!
