Teddington 188 (62.2 overs)

Brondesbury 192-6 (53.3 overs)

Middlesex County Premier League

As rain threatened, reigning champions Teddington were toppled by a storming performance from Brondesbury on Saturday (May 24).

On a slow, low, seaming wicket, Brondesbury won the toss and made early inroads into the Teddington batting line-up. The home side appeared in dire straits at 93-6 at lunch.

A minor fightback ensued, with Teddington making up some ground before being dismissed in the 63rd over for 188.

Brondesbury's start was equally miserable, as they lost Will Sellar without scoring. However, with victory in their sights, they were not going to crumble.

Tom Simpson (33) and Mike Foster (71) frustrated the Teddington bowlers, before Peter Morgan (41 not out) stepped in at 157-6 to guide Bron home.

Hastings fell victim to Brondesbury on Sunday, with Mark Lowrey (62) and Matt Stein (77) enjoying a fruitful partnership on the way to a total of 220.

Despite a late flourish, Hastings struggled and fell 25 short of their target leaving Bron to enjoy their seaside jaunt.

The only dampener was their departure from the Federations Cup to Stanmore on Monday.
