Kingston University's building courses are the best in the country, according to a national newspaper survey.
In its University Guide 2003, the paper gave Kingston 91.4 out of 100 for its teaching in the subject, moving it up from last year's sixth place.
Kingston was ranked sixth for its education courses, up from 48th last year and 10th for mechanical engineering, which is up from 18th.
Overall the university was placed 46th in the country out of 120 institutions, up from 85th last year.
