A NEW Headteacher will be taking over at Chiswick Community School from June 1st.

Jonathan Bach has considerable experience in London schools and comes to Chiswick from a high achieving and successful school in Wembley.

Jonathan was deputy head at Preston Manor High School and played a significant role in transforming the school from one with serious weaknesses' to a school with 66 per cent A* to C at GCSE level and an oversubscribed sixth form - and he now plans to set about raising achievement further at Chiswick.

Taking over in June, Jonathan will participate fully in the planning for the next academic year, while outgoing head David Brockie will continue to contribute to secondary education in Hounlsow through his new role as secondary education adviser.

Jonathan told the Times: Chiswick is a school with many strengths. I am looking forward to building on these to create an institution which is in the forefront of teaching and learning developments and seeks to ensure all students achieve their potential. I want all the students at Chiswick to thrive in a secure atmosphere built on mutual respect.''
