The "hedonistic glamour" of the Art Deco era is the inspiration behind a series of bright artworks currently on display at Balham Library.
The colourful creations were the work of 10 young artists, including Ricky and Latchmie Tiwari (left), from Wandsworth Young Carers, a project run by children's charity NCH and one, by Deenisha James, will even go on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Through art workshops, education sessions and gallery tours the young people all of whom care for a sibling or an adult were encouraged to take inspiration from the V&A's major Art Deco exhibition.
Kim Sutton-Johnson, Wandsworth Young Carers project manager, said: "This initiative provided a wonderful opportunity for our young carers to participate as a group and be creative. The artwork they have created is inspiring and vibrant. We are urging everyone in the local community to come down to Balham Library to see for themselves what these young people can do when given the opportunity."
