HOUNSLOW Borough's new boss James Wise will make sweeping changes to the side by drafting in 11 new names - but he will do his utmost to stop rival clubs luring away top players like Ian Jones (writes DALE HARRY).

Wise, 25, will get his first look at the team in three weeks time when Hounslow prepare for a pre-season tournament.

He said: "I won't be getting rid of players just for the sake of it, but I intend to bring in around 11 players to strengthen the squad.

"I have players in mind who have played at Vauxhall Conference and Ryman Premier level who I know could do a good job for us. And I am looking forward to seeing what I've got to work with."

Wise, who was a player for Cardiff City and Hayes, has brought in Robert Dale - former Wembley boss - as his assistant.

"There is talent at the club and I would like see players such as striker Ian Jones, the league's top scorer, stay on, but no doubt there will be interest for him from other clubs. I will be doing my best to keep hold of him and players of his quality," said Wise.

The Hounslow boss was introduced to the club by former caretaker manager Daniel Butler, now in charge of the youth side, and says that the secret to success is team spirit.

"Anything less then a top-three place will be a personal disappointment. Unity and consistency are key elements which I hope to instill."

Wise is Hounslow's fourth manager in 10 months.
