FORMER England captain Gary Patterson finds himself without a club following the upheaval at Farnborough Town and is wondering whether he will have to drop out of the Conference next season (writes TONY FLOOD).
The 30-year-old midfield ace, twice an FA Trophy winner with Kingstonian, says: "My contract with Farnborough ended on May 6th so I am a free agent. But no clubs have contacted me so far despite the fact my name has been circulated by the Professional Footballers Association.
"I could find it hard to get fixed up with a Conference club. The way the game is going with so many players being forced to drop out of the Football League, means clubs can take their pick of several players. And all my success with Kingstonian and my Division Three championship medal with Shrewsbury back in 1992 may count for nothing now."
