The man accused of murdering Finnish student Suvi Aronen made an appearance at the Old Bailey.

Jason Dockrill, 33, faces a charge of murder for the killing of the 23-year-old student in Wanstead on March 20.

Miss Aronen went missing on Thursday, March 20, and was discovered the following day, concealed in undergrowth alongside a footpath between the A12 and the River Close.

Suvi had been in England for three years studying for a degree in culture and media studies at the University of East London. She was just over a month away from finishing her course.

Dockrill, of West Road, Stratford, is also charged with four other offences regarding attacks on three other women on the same day.

He is charged with one count of attempted robbery on 44-year-old Fahema Albacznigi, and a charge of actual bodily harm on Karin Karina, 80, on a footbridge near Wansted Park Road. He also faces one count of robbery against Glynis Moore, 56, in Canterbury Avenue.

Dressed in a white shirt, Dockrill appeared before Judge Jeremy Roberts QC. He was not asked to enter pleas and only spoke to confirm his name.

The case was adjourned until July 10 for legal reasons. Dockrill was remanded in custody.
