OFFICERS from various divisions of the police patrolled the borough in high visibility at the weekend in an operation aptly named Blister.
Over 90 uniformed officers from borough community beat officers, crime squad officers, Transport for London officers, Met traffic wardens, parks police to police community support officers patrolled all wards of the borough in a bid to combat the volume of crime and prevent crimes such as robbery, burglary and motor vehicle crimes.
A spokesman for Twickenham Police said that when they have such operations the effect is felt for several days following with crime figures declining in response. He said that during a Bank Holiday they are normally quite stretched but crime figures showed a far quieter Bank Holiday last weekend.
