With just 48 hours to go until AFC Wimbledon are scheduled to take over the running of Kingsmeadow, chairman Kris Stewart has told fans not to worry if the deal is a few days late in being finalised.
The Dons had been aiming to buy the lease from Ks chairman Rajesh Khosla for £2.5m on Sunday, June 1.
But Stewart thinks this might be delayed because of the amount of work needed to complete the takeover.
"We are pretty close to sorting out the deal even though it might not happen exactly by the stroke of midnight on Sunday," he told the News.
"It is a long process. If you think about moving house, then multiply the amount of paperwork by 10, that's what we've been doing.
"Missing the deadline by a few days won't matter a great deal because we are still on course to buy the lease."
