Malden Wanderers crashed back down to earth with a bump on Saturday.

The early Castle Lager Surrey Championship Premier Division pace-setters crashed to a 109-run defeat at home to Reigate Priory.

Reigate posted an impressive 250-8 and Wanderers were skittled out for 141 in reply, Dave Gorrod's 68 the only major contribution of the innings.

But Wanderers still hold a five-point lead at the top of the table with Wimbledon, who could have gone above them, crashing to an 82-run defeat at Guildford.

Malden visit Esher, who are second from bottom in the table, on Saturday.

Chessington fell just two runs short of victory in their Division Two clash at Ashtead.

Replying to Ashtead's 200-8, they had to settle for a winning draw, finishing on 199-9 from 54 overs.

Overseas star Ken Hazel was the pick of Chessington's bowlers with 3-88 from 27 overs while Andy White ran two Ashtead batsmen out.

Nils Jorgensen hit 48 and Hazel 45 for Chessington while Paul Willis (23 not out) and Nick Bailey (18) nearly took Chessington to victory. They are at home to Old Hamptonians on Saturday.

Skipper Darren Schlinder took seven wickets in Chessington's seconds' five-wicket win over Chertsey.

Worcester Park recorded their third victory in a row to move within a point of top spot in Division Three.

Harminder Singh blasted 48 from 51 balls as Park reached 81-0. But despite 28 from Joe Hill, 30 from Hywell Steel and 29 from John Drake, they slipped to 204 all out.

The victory target was put out of Ashford's sight by Gary Marshall's new ball spell of 3-23.

Co-seamer James Cameron took 3-34 and Ashford were all out for 104.

Worcester Park visit Old Rutlishians on Saturday.

Kingstonian took four points for a winning draw from a nailbiting Division Three clash with Limpsfield.

The visitors recorded 193-7 declared, skipper Ian Piper the pick of the bowlers with 2-32 from 17 overs.

Ks, who visit East Molesey on Saturday, finished on 188-9 from 47 overs, Maz Hassan once again top scoring with 87.
