Detectives investigating the murder of June Thrussell have arrested a 58-year-old man.
A spokesman said the man was arrested at an address in Dagenham this morning and is being questioned at an East London police station.
Ms Thrussell, 56, was found at her home in Pedley Road, Dagenham after failing to appear for work for three days.
Concerned colleagues called police who discovered the secretary on June 17.
A post mortem examination gave the cause of death as strangulation.
