FORMER pupils joined staff and children to bid farewell to their lollipop man and caretaker.
Three generations of pupils attended a retirement and 65th birthday assembly at Istead Primary School, Downs Road, Northfleet, for Michael Neal, who was presented with a birthday cake and gifts.
Headteacher Caron Gadener said: "Pupils and staff at Istead Rise have come and gone over the years but Mr Neal has been a constant and reliable personality and friend to the school for 21 years.
"His unstinting service in and around the school and of course as lollipop man will be missed by the many people whose lives he has touched."
