SWANLEY ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
during the month of October, members have been brightening these autumn days with a variety of social events. On October 8, a visit was made to the Winter Gardens in Margate for a variety show. On October 17, some members attended the Civic Service at St Mary's Church, Swanley, whilst the same afternoon other members went to the Royal Festival Hall, London to take part in the BBC Children in Need Concert hosted by Gaby Roslin. The concert was given by the BBC Concert Orchestra and was conducted by David Arnold. A whole host of stars from BBC programmes were present to give an afternoon of fun and merriment.
On October 19, we had our monthly meeting, a quiz was featured with our chairman Jack Gilbert, conducting the proceedings in his own inimitable style.
Our walking, keep fit and ten pin bowling programmes continue to provide the more energetic members with enjoyment.
