NHS RETIREMENT FELLOWSHIP (Bromley Branch)
At the September meeting we enjoyed an interesting slide show by Peter Davies, featuring the Peak District National Park, which covers 500 square miles of Derbyshire and parts of Cheshire.
Mr Davies told the fellowship it is one of the largest, loveliest and earliest established of the National Parks, where all the outdoor pursuits of hiking, caving and climbing can take place.
Buxton, at over 100ft is one of the highest market towns where the health-giving spa waters can be taken and the beautiful municipal gardens and conservatory can be admired.
In October, Mr Mel Rees entertained the members with a talk entitled "A humorous look at life", he recounted many amusing episodes about family, friends, pets and his trials and tribulations with the bureaucracy of modern living.
The fellowship is holding its annual coffee morning at the United Reformed Church, Widmore Road, on Monday, November 29 from 10am to noon and all ex members will be very welcome to renew acquaintances.
Meetings are held in the Medical Education Centre, Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough at 10.15am on the third Wednesday of each month (except December).
All ex NHS staff and their spouses, including those under contract are most welcome.
