BROMLEY CAMERA CLUB

On October 28, we had Round one of our Monochrome Print competition, the Judge being George Wallace, FRPS. The main feature of George's judging was his range of marks from a two (to the dismay of one of the entrants) to the maximum score of ten (to the delight of those entrants). There were eight entries in the preliminary class, George being slightly kinder with marks ranging from four to the one ten he awarded to Stephen Andrews for his print entitled "Counting Change".

Moving on to the experienced group, where they were many more entries, George awarded a two (as mentioned above) but also awarded tens to Steve Jones for "Escalator", John Bartlett for his "Water Enigma" and Tom Williams' "Water and Light". He also awarded tens to both of Geoff Lewis' prints entitled "Calm Before the Storm" and "Waiting for a Bite" and also to Val Bluck's prints of "Thames Barrier" and "Brooklyn Bridge".

Our President, John Bartlett, ARPS thanked George for being our judge for the evening and for his interesting and constructive comments but mentioned that George will be showing his own work at one of our later meetings so we can "judge" his prints.
