GREENWICH Council's tenants show increasing satisfaction with services, according to a poll.

Results from 4,504 tenants questioned by the National Housing Federation between January and March show 71 per cent are satisfied with the overall service provided by the council.

This is up from the 63 per cent who were satisfied in 2001.

The poll found 71 per cent of tenants think they get good value for money from their rent.

It showed 79 per cent find staff helpful and 80 per cent of residents who had repairs completed in the last 12 months rated all aspects of the work as "good" or "very good".

The council is investing £40m in bringing more than 8,000 homes in the period up to May 2006 to the national Decent Homes standard.
