A WAR memorial will be having a facelift thanks to a council grant.
Dartford Council will give £2,320 to the Central Park War Memorial, Market Street, to restore the bronze plaques commemorating the fallen of the Second World War.
The grant will also be used to refurbish engravings of the names of the 346 men who died in the First World War, which have become less visible over time.
The memorial will be a focal point in Dartford town centre when celebrating the 60th anniversary of the end of the war next year.
Council leader Councillor Kenneth Leadbeater said: "There'll be a week full of events involving all sections of our town in the celebrations."
