SCHOOLCHILDREN took a step back in time to mark the opening of their new playground.
Pupils from All Saints CE Primary School, Blackheath Vale, Blackheath, celebrated the launch of the £20,000 development with a medieval-themed day.
Youngsters dressed in medieval clothes and were given juggling lessons by a court jester.
There was also the unveiling of a new mural, which was designed by artists but incorporated ideas from pupils.
Headteacher Debbie Tompkins expressed her gratitude to the business community, which helped fund the project with a series of donations.
She added: "The wall used to look rather depressing but the mural is stimulating and attractive and really adds to the learning environment."
