A DISABLED man has hit out at the yobs who left him stranded by wrecking his specially-adapted car.

The culprits used a brick to smash up the Motability Peugeot 206 belonging to Tony Reed, 59, in a night-time attack, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

Broomleigh Housing Association tenants' representative for Downe, Mr Reed, of Luxted Road, Downe, woke to find all the car's windows broken and its paintwork damaged.

Mr Reed, who runs Beckenham and District Snooker League despite having a stroke three years ago, was forced to cancel an appointment at Kings College Hospital after the attack, some time between 12.30am and 6am on November 3.

He said: "The car has a blue badge and was in a disabled bay so they must have realised it belonged to a disabled person. I just can't believe someone would do this. You don't expect it in Downe.

"I rely on the car to get around, as I can't really walk. I'm a bit lost without it and I just want people to think a bit before they do something like this."

Anyone with information on the incident should call Bromley police on 020 8284 9992.
