YOUNGSTERS are preparing to take part in a campaign encouraging children to walk to school.
The Walk on Wednesday (WOW) scheme aims to get children trekking in from home once a week for a month.
Parents with pupils at Southborough, St James' and Oak Lodge primaries are urged to ditch their cars for the campaign, which has been organised for pupils by Transport for London.
Bromley Council's school travel plan officer Louise French said: "The idea to encourage walking just one day a week can have a snowball effect.
"Parents can clearly see the benefits for themselves and the health of their children.
"If each parent and child walks just one day a week it would reduce travel congestion by one fifth, which is a huge change."
