TV pundit and former Premiership star Andy Townsend started his football career at Welling United.
Townsend was working as a computer operator with Greenwich Council at the time and made a total of 105 appearances for Welling before moving on to Weymouth and then being discovered by Southampton.
He went on to play for Norwich, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.
Townsend also earned international honours, winning 70 caps with the Republic of Ireland.
He now works as a pundit on ITV's football coverage.
