A SPORTS club is celebrating after plans to floodlight its football ground were given support by councillors.
The decision means the VCD Athletic Club in Old Road, Crayford, can bring its first team home again for Kent league matches.
Peter Bellingham of Woodside Road, Crayford, which borders the club, said the lights would have a negative effect on residents' lives.
But several councillors said the residents could count themselves lucky the lights would only be used 20 times a year, unlike floodlit school sports facilities which can be used six nights a week.
