CHILDCARE AWARDS: Nominations are being sought for the Lewisham Childcare Trainee 2004 Awards. PARK WALK: A walk around Sutcliffe Park will take in new bridges and wildlife habitats following the re-routing of the Quaggy River. Organised by the Quaggy Waterways Action Group, the walk begins at the main entrance on Eltham Road, Eltham Green, at 2pm on September 5.

CENTENARY EVENT: The Salvation Army's Plumstead corps is to celebrate its centenary at the Gordon Memorial Hall, Whitehart Road. Celebrations commence with a display of historical memorabilia at 2pm on September 4. There will be services at 10.30am and 5.30pm on the following day.

TRADERS IN TROUBLE: Four traders caught selling alcohol and cigarettes to children as young as 13 face prosecution. An operation involving Greenwich's trading standards team and Greenwich police targeted 15 shops in Plumstead and Eltham on August 21.
