A MAN was hit by a train at Kingsbury Tube station on Monday.
He is on a life support machine at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead after suffering head injuries, two broken legs and other fractures.
As we went to press yesterday (Wednesday) his condition was described as "life threatening".
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious, and believe the man either jumped or fell from the platform at about 8pm.
Kingsbury station was closed for 90 minutes and Jubilee Line services were suspended between Wembley Park and Stanmore.
The man is white and aged between 20 and 30. British Transport Police officers recovered some property from the scene, but there were no identifying documents.
A witness said he had seen the man standing on the edge of the southbound platform, looking very nervous as the train pulled in.
The witness looked away for a second before hearing a loud bang.
The driver of the Stratford-bound train told police that as he approached the station he saw a man standing alone and believes he jumped or stepped in front of the train.
Anyone with information should call 0800 405040.
