PRIMARY and secondary schools across Bexley have been working together to make life easier for children transferring to their new secondary schools.
Children in Year 6 at 60 primary schools have been involved in science projects in collaboration with 19 secondary schools in the borough, working with both teachers and secondary school pupils.
Projects included growing crystals and carrying out extreme chemical reactions using temperature sensors.
The project has enabled the youngsters to learn more about science as well as getting some experience of life in "big school".
The project will last until October when primary teachers will visit their former pupils during science lessons in their new schools.
The project has been such a success another is planned for next year.
