TWO drug dealers caught after police were tipped off by residents have been sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison.
Kevin Palmer and Steven Smith, both from Dartford, were each given nine-year jail terms at Maidstone Crown Court after being found guilty of supplying Class A drugs.
Temple Hill residents told police 44-year-old Palmer, of Green Street Green Road, and 47-year-old Smith, of Hilltop Gardens, were stashing drugs at an address in the area, the court heard.
Police raided the house in Hilltop Gardens in August last year and found LSD, cocaine, herbal cannabis and cannabis resin with a total street value of around £250,000.
They also found more than £19,000 in cash, which Kent police will now try to keep using the Proceeds of Crime Act.
After the hearing, Detective Sergeant Karl Thomas, of Kent police’s North Kent drugs team, said: “These men were seriously affecting the life of the local community through supplying illegal drugs.
“We are pleased with the length of the sentences and expect them to serve as a deterrent to those who peddle drugs in our community.”
