RUMOURS around rap star P Diddy’s possible takeover of Crystal Palace Football Club continue - after the club yesterday (March 18) offered to give away his album to fans.

National media reports suggest the award-winning music producer wants to buy struggling Crystal Palace, which went into administration earlier this year.

And in a move which is sure to fuel the rumours, the cash-strapped Championship outfit announced yesterday that P Diddy’s Press Play album has been added to a list of prizes that can be won by supporters taking part in the fans’ sponsorship scheme.

The sponsorship scheme, which has so far raised £20,000, urges supporters to contribute £25 towards a sponsorship fund for the game against Preston on April 5.

Fans get their name on a role of honour in the match day programme and also have the chance to win prizes including hospitality packages, signed shirts and balls - and now P Diddy’s latest record.

Speaking this week, Eagles’ chief executive Phil Alexander said: “It has been tremendous to see how the fans have backed this sponsorship day.”

Administrators were appointed to Selhurst Park in January after the football club failed to pay its debts.

The administrators were appointed to rescue the club and reconstruct its finances and are urgently seeking buyers.
