FIREFIGHTERS spent more than four hours tackling a fire at a high-rise block in Greenwich yesterday afternoon (March 17).
Calls to the emergency services were made at around 2.30pm after a fire took hold on the fifth floor of Metcalfe Court, near the Greenwich Millennium Village.
Six fire engines arrived at the flats in John Harrison Way and firefighters spent four and half hours at the scene successfully extinguishing the blaze and stopping it from spreading.
There were no reported injuries.
The last fire crew left the scene at around 7pm last night (March 17).
