A DRIVER who suffered serious head injuries in a car accident on Sunday (March 14) is no longer in a critical condition.

The 39-year-old suffered head and hand injuries after the Ford Focus he was driving overturned on a bend in Eden Park Avenue, Beckenham.

His grey car apparently clipped a parked car before turning over onto its roof at around 6.50pm.

Emergency services attended the scene and the driver was taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting.

This morning (March 16) Bromley Police said the motorist’s condition was no longer life threatening, but it is understood he lost three fingers as a result of the accident.

The road was closed until 10.30pm on Sunday night.
