A DRUGS charity is taking Bexley Council to court in a row over fees it claims it is owed.
Foundation 66 has issued a writ at the High Court claiming the council owes it more than £57,000.
The foundation was created in 2009 when two charities merged.
One of the charities had been providing outreach services to Bexley’s drug users since 2007.
Its contract, taken over by Foundation 66, was due to end in March last year, but was terminated early by the council because it was unhappy with the service being provided.
The charity waived its entitlement to a six-month notice of termination, but in the writ, claims it has not been paid for the services it provided to Bexley up until the end of December 2008.
The writ claims despite numerous requests, the council has refused to pay.
It says it is owed £54,000 in fees and £3,500 in interest and is claiming continuing interest from Bexley of £15 a day.
