AN ELVIS impersonator from Bexleyheath has recreated the only time the king of rock and roll set foot on British soil.
Elvis Presley famously never performed in the UK because of oppostion by his manager Colonel Tom Parker.
But he did stop off at Prestwick airport in March 1960 on his way back to the USA from Germany, after a two-year stint in the US army.
Mr Jackson, 23, was asked to stand in as Elvis for the 50th anniversary of the event, and was flown to the Scottish airport, wearing a replica US sergeant’s uniform.
As he stepped off the plane, he was greeted by fans and the press, just as Elvis was.
Mr Jackson went on to perform several Elvis songs and unveiled a memorial to the event.
