POLICE in Bromley are warning homeowners to secure their sheds and garages after a spate of burglaries.
A spokesman said: "There have been a number of burglaries recently where suspects have taken tools and other high value equipment from garden sheds and other outbuildings.
"Always please lock all doors and windows on leaving your home, and please ensure sheds and garages are also secured.
"Due to upgraded security on houses these days, burglars are often opting for easy pickings at the end of the garden, as items from garden sheds are small, lightweight and carry a healthy second hand value.
"Additionally, it is important to remember that what may be a spade, fork or pair of shears in your hands can easily be turned into a tool to break in to your home by a potential burglar.
"Do please consider this when securing your tools and consider registering items like lawn mowers on www.immobilise.com "It may be well worth investing a few pounds to improve the security of your shed, or garage, this summer."
