A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the car she was driving exploded in Vigo.
People in cars nearby, including two children, were not hurt following the blast at 1.10pm today.
The woman’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Homes were evacuated and police have cordoned off Harvel Road, Commority Road and Southfield Road.
Army bomb disposal experts are examining the car as a precautionary measure.
A Kent police spokesperson said: “We would ask people to stay away from the scene to allow the emergency services to do their job.
