A busy lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to compromise on your hairstyle.

Reports indicate that 70 per cent of women spend less than 15 minutes on their hair before going out.

Places to go, people to see, things to do – a busy lifestyle means it’s a constant race against the clock to get in and out of the bathroom in record time, but that’s no reason to look anything less than best at all times, as Jed Hamill of Graham Webb International explains with his expert advice.

15 minutes

Blow and go

With shampoos and conditioners that wash in and out, with no waiting, you can be straight out of the shower and still manage a decent blow-dry, providing you have the necessary tools at hand.

First, towel-dry your hair to remove excess moisture, then run a comb through the lengths before zapping them with a turbo-charged (1,500 watts or more) hairdryer until all your hair is about 80 per cent dry.

Only then do you apply styling products and work your hair into shape, keeping the dryer constantly on the move.

If you’re lucky you’ll still have time to spritz your style with a gloss spray before sprinting out of the door.

Curl action

If curls are what you’re after, invest in a set of Velcro rollers that you can wind into your hair without needing to heat them.

First, spritz Clynol’s Look at Me Delicious boosting hairspray over your already dry hair, wind in the rollers (no pins necessary) and give your head a quick blast with the dryer to add heat. It’s that simple.

The trick is to leave the rollers in until the very last minute; only after applying make-up, dressing yourself and checking your purse, do you pull out the rollers, then finally tousle your hair using your fingers to loosen the curls, and go go go.

10 minutes

Cheat the clock

If your hair’s looking a bit sad or greasy, but you’ve no time to wash it, then reach for the dry shampoo, it really works!

The trick is to tip your head upside down and squirt the shampoo at the roots only to give lift where you need it.

Alternatively just wash your fringe or the sections of hair right around your face and finger dry; it’s amazing how much better it makes you feel.

Quick chic

If you’ve got shoulder-length hair, then you’re only ever a few minutes away from the all-time best cheat’s hairdo, the chic chignon.

It doesn’t have to be super smooth, loose pieces are utterly adorable and so now. To perfect the art of the quick chignon, simply practice when you have a minute to spare.

5 minutes

Back attack

If you’ve got longer hair, then the quickest answer to looking good is to spritz your hair with gloss or styling spray (Clynol’s Look at Me Lustrous final shine spray is perfect for this), pull it back into a low, or high ponytail and secure with a band. And, happily it’s a current catwalk favourite that puts you in with the in crowd.

Short story

Clynol’s smooth silky frizz-free serum is their best invention ever! It tames your hair, puts paid to the agony of dry or frizzy ends and gives your hair that just-coiffed shine in seconds.

The secret is to only use a tiny amount or you risk leaving your hair feeling heavy or greasy. Just pump a few drops of serum into the palm of your hand, then use the finger tips of your other hand to apply to the very ends of your hair until you have the desired effect.

Be careful, a little goes a long way.
