AN EVENING of entertainment helped remember a mum-of-two who lost her fight with breast cancer last year.
Beth Calnan from Orpington wanted to organise the recent fundraiser in Petts Wood to help others affected by cancer, but the 38-year-old died in December.
However, the show at the Memorial Hall in Petts Wood Road went ahead as planned with the Bromley Players performing extracts from hit musicals.
Celebrity chef Gary Rhodes introduced the event.
Beth’s friend and event organiser Mary Mason said: “Beth was very keen to do this fundraiser to help other women faced with the same devastating disease.
“She had planned to help us but unfortunately it was not to be.”
The event raised £3,100 which will help fund new equipment for the Chartwell breast unit at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough.
